Petty Cash Account (Legacy)

To document transactions that are paid for with cash you wish to track in a Petty Cash account, you'll want to create a new "bank" account, even though technically it's not a "bank account." To do this, head to your Accounts tab and use the button on the left to create a new account.
When posting an expense transaction for an expense paid for with Petty Cash funds, indicate this account in the transaction. To reflect a deposit to this fund, you can either post an Account Balance update through the Accounts tab by clicking on the balance of the Petty Cash account and using the "Update Balance" button, or by posting an income transaction to your business account (see Tracking Business Income & Expenses.)
