Listing a Rental on Facebook Marketplace

Property management software like Rentec Direct can automatically syndicate your listings to many of the most popular rental websites. However, Facebook Marketplace does not currently accept listings syndicated from third-party platforms.

The good news is that listing on Facebook is simple. Using the steps below, you can quickly create a manual listing and share it with a large audience, helping you reach more potential renters.

How to List a Rental on Facebook Marketplace

Facebook has updated its policies and no longer supports business pages on Marketplace. However, you can still list rentals or homes for sale using a personal account. Just follow the simple steps below to add your listing to Facebook Marketplace.

In your Facebook account: 

1. Click the Marketplace icon

2. Select Create New Listing

   
   

   

   
   

3. Click Homes for Sale or Rent

   
   

   

   
   
4. Add Your Listing Details
   1. Photos: Upload up to 50 photos
   2. Property Type: Select For Rent and choose the Property Type (apartment/condo, house, or townhouse)
   3. Bedrooms & Bathrooms: Enter the correct counts
   4. Price: Specify the rental amount and frequency (monthly, weekly, etc.)

   5. Address: Enter the full property address

      Pro Tip: Including more information can help attract potential renters: square footage, Lease length, Available date, and Amenities (heating/cooling, parking, laundry, pet-friendliness, etc.).

      
      

      

      
      
5. Choose where your listing will appear (Marketplace, your profile, and/or relevant Facebook groups)
6. Preview your listing
7. Click Post
