As traditional homeowners' insurance is often insufficient, landlord-specific insurance is essential for proper coverage of a rental property. It is also recommended to review your policy every year or every two years to ensure adequate coverage and deductible limits.

Add Your Landlord Insurance to Rentec Direct
To get started, you will need to enter the policy information for the properties.

In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click on Properties
- Right-click on a property and select Edit Property
- Under Insurance, enter your policy information
✨Notice the Property Insurance Estimate that automatically populates from Steadily based on the property address. Don't have insurance? Click Get Insurance Quote to start in the software.
System Note: Property Insurance Reports can be created by properties or Owners. To exclude property from being included in your property insurance report, enter EXEMPT for the Carrier name. This works great for multi-unit complexes. Enter the policy information in the Main unit and enter EXEMPT for each subunit.
Property Insurance Report
Reports can easily be pulled by property or owner as often as you'd like.

In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click on Reports
- Under Miscellaneous, click on Property Insurance
- Select data sources
- Rentec Pro: Property/Properties and Insurance Status
- Rentec PM: Property/Properties or Owner and Insurance Status. Check the Owner Info box to display the owner's name on the report.
- Click on Submit
Click the icon to print, email, or download the report as a PDF or CSV.
Tips:
- Click on the ⭐ to add the report to your favorites.
- Schedule the report to be automatically emailed to you weekly or monthly. Learn more about automating scheduled reports.
Enable or Disable the Displayed Estimate and Quote Option in Properties
Estimates with a link to Get Insurance Quote from Steadily can automatically be displayed in the property profile for a quick comparison. Already have insurance and don't want to display the estimate? The steps below will guide you through customizing your settings.
In your Rentec Direct account:

Click on Settings
Under Program, click on Program Defaults
Under General Preferences, scroll down to Show landlord insurance rates on the edit property page?
Use the dropdown to select which properties should display an estimate:
- All Properties
- Owned Properties: PM accounts will only display an estimate on self-owned properties; Pro accounts will display an estimate on all properties.
- None
- Save Changes
Pro Tip: Easily change the Font size and Report header style while you're here to brand and customize your reports.
Get a Quote and Purchase Landlord Insurance
The following steps walk you through getting a quote for comparison or purchasing a landlord insurance policy directly in Steadily, within your Rentec Direct software.

In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click on Properties
- Right-click on a Property and choose Edit Property
- Under Insurance, a Property Insurance Estimate will automatically populate based on the property information entered
- Click on Get Insurance Quote to enter a few more details and obtain a quote
- When you're satisfied with a quote, you can e-sign your new landlord insurance policy
