Rentec Direct property management software offers fully integrated tenant screening solutions, including an income verification report powered by PayScore.

PayScore Income Verification is a powerful add-on that helps you confidently assess an applicant’s ability to meet income requirements. By pulling verified financial data directly from the applicant’s bank account, it provides a clear and accurate picture of earnings—especially valuable for evaluating non-traditional income sources such as gig work, tips, bonuses, and self-employment.

Cost: $5.00 per report

Availability: Available as an add-on to any screening package or as a standalone (à la carte) report

How to order an Income Verification Report with Rentec Direct

Ordering an Income Verification Report in Rentec Direct is quick and simple:

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click Reports
  2. Select Screening Reports
  3. Click Order a Report
  4. Enter the applicant's details in the Subject Details page
  5. Choose a report type:
    1. Nationwide Reports
    2. Criminal Manual Search
    3. Criminal Intellisearch
  6. Click Next
  7. Under Income Verification Report, select Add Income Verification to your package 
  8. Enter the applicant's email address and mobile phone number
  9. Choose the screening report package you wish to order
  10. Click Next to submit your order

Tip: Let your applicant know to expect this message to avoid delays.

Once complete, the Income Verification report will be available to view along with your other Screening Reports and will be available to view for 5 days.


How Income Verification Reporting Works

After you order the report:

  1. The applicant receives a link from PayScore via email or text message
  2. They follow the instructions to:
    1. Connect their bank account securely
    2. Authorize the release of their income report
  3. PayScore generates a clear, easy-to-read summary of the applicant's income, including:
    1. Identified employers (including non-traditional and gig work and self-employed)
    2. Recurring and Non-Recurring net income
    3. Total income over the past 12
    4. Past 3-month average
    5. 12-month average income

      Applicants can review the report for accuracy and add explanatory notes if needed. (They cannot modify the actual data in the report.)

  4. A copy of the Income Verification report will be available for you to review in your Rentec Direct account, along with your other Screening Reports.

Important Note: You only pay for reports completed by the applicant. If your applicant doesn’t complete the process, or in the small chance that their bank isn’t supported, you’ll automatically receive a credit for the cost of the report.
