Rentec Direct allows you to screen tenants using VantageScore credit reports directly through the software so you can make confident rental decisions.

To help prevent credit fraud and identity theft, a one-time site inspection is required when ordering Full Credit Reports with VantageScore.

Tenant Screening Options

Rentec Direct offers two credit screening options, depending on the level of detail you need. Only Full Credit Reports require a site inspection.

Tenant Report Card with VantageScore

• Provides a quick snapshot of an applicant's credit
• Displays the VantageScore credit score within a range
• No site inspection required
• Best for fast pre-screening

Tenant Full Credit Report with VantageScore

• Provides a complete view of an applicant's credit history
• Includes the applicant's full VantageScore credit score with a comprehensive overview of an applicant's credit history
• All three major credit bureaus—Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax require a one-time inspection

The site inspection ensures you have a secure way to access, store, and handle tenant credit report information.

About the Required Site Inspection

When you apply to run Tenant Full Credit Reports with VantageScore through your Rentec Direct account, we'll request the inspection on your behalf.

Here's what to expect:

1. An independent inspection company will contact you to schedule a visit
2. The inspector visits your office or home office at a time that is convenient for you
3. Once the site inspection has passed, your account is enabled for Full Credit Reports

What Inspectors Verify

The inspection is quick and straightforward. The inspector will want to verify a few things:

• You have a secure office or home office
  • A lockable door or password-protected computer works great
• You can securely store or dispose of printed reports
  • For example, a locked filing cabinet or paper shredder
• Credit reports are used only for tenant screening purposes
• They'll snap a few photos of the location for verification

Inspection Cost

• The inspection fee is $50
• Rentec Direct will never charge you more than we are charged

While the Inspection Is Pending

While you wait for the site inspection to be completed, your account remains fully active. You can continue ordering other screening reports, including:
