Using an AI Assistant with Your Rentec Direct Account

Rentec Direct supports using AI assistants with browser capabilities, sometimes called AI agents, to access and work within your account. These tools can navigate pages, enter information, and complete tasks based on your instructions.

While AI can be a helpful assistant, you should remain in control of access to your account and review any work completed on your behalf.

AI Assistant Compatibility

Not all AI assistants (aka chatbots) have the same capabilities. Some can successfully access Rentec Direct through their browser tools, while others may be unable to complete the login process or interact with your account.

As of this writing, both Claude and ChatGPT-Astra have worked successfully with Rentec Direct.

Important Note: Rentec Direct does not guarantee that any particular AI assistant or browser tool will work with your account. Compatibility may change as these tools are updated.

Logging In to Your Account

For the best control over your account access, we recommend handling the login process yourself, even if your AI assistant offers to log in for you.

To get started:

1. Ask your AI assistant to open the Rentec Direct login page in its browser
2. Take control of the browser and manually enter your login information
3. Complete any security verification and log in to your account
4. Once logged in, allow the assistant to assist with the tasks you specify

System Note: Rentec Direct uses a Cloudflare security check on the login page. Some AI assistants may have difficulty getting past this check, which is designed for a human to complete. If your assistant gets stuck at the login page, take control of the browser and complete the check yourself.

Reviewing Work Completed by AI

AI assistants can make mistakes, misunderstand instructions, or change information you did not intend to update. A few simple precautions can help you stay in control of your account and its data.

• Give clear instructions: Be specific about what you'd like the assistant to do and which records it should work with.
• Review changes before saving: Ask your assistant to explain what it plans to change and wait for your approval before it saves anything, when possible.
• Verify completed work: After the assistant finishes, check the affected records in your Rentec Direct account to make sure everything is accurate.
