Notifications and Reminders | Notes
The notes and reminders interface gives you flexible reminder options throughout the program. Quickly add a note or reminder to a property, tenant, bank account, or owner (PM accounts) that you can reference or set auto reminders to help you manage tasks.

System Note: Reminders can only be viewed by the manager or user who set the reminder, as well as the account administrator. (All users can see sticky notes. Click here to learn more about adding Sticky Notes)
Create a Note or Reminder
Creating a note or reminder for a property, tenant, bank account, or owner (PM accounts) is a straightforward and simple task in your software.
In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click on the preferred tab
- Right-click on the subject and choose Notes & History
- Click on +Add New Note and enter the details
- Click on Save Changes to save the Note or continue with the following steps to create a reminder
- Check Enable Reminders
- Remind me on - It will send you a reminder on a specific date
- Repeat Frequency - How often you would like the reminder to repeat
How do you prefer the render to be delivered? Check By Email and/or By Text
Note: You can send reminders to multiple email addresses or text numbers by adding them separated by commas
- Click on Save Changes
Tips:
- To test the reminder tool, set a reminder for tomorrow with your email address and/or mobile number. You will receive the notification the following day at 8:00 AM PST.
- You can quickly customize the time for your notifications are sent in the General Preference of your Program Defaults.
Edit, Cancel, or Print Notes and Reminders
There are two locations to access Reminders in your Rentec Direct account where you can quickly view and update reminders and print a log if needed:
In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click the Bell at the top of any screen in your software to access a list of all Notes & Reminders or
- Click on Properties, Tenants, Banking, or Owners (PM accounts) to access a list specific to the individual
- Right-click on the subject and select Notes & History
- Refine the list to easily find the Notes or Reminders you would like to review, edit, cancel, or print with the following options:
- Hide System Notes to only view Reminders
- Use the dropdown to select a date range
- Enter keywords or data in the filter
- Click on Print Notes to print the list you've created
- Click on a line item to view the details
- Edit details or uncheck Enable Reminders to cancel the reminder
- Click on Save Changes

Property Reminders
Replace the batteries in smoke alarms (repeat every 1 year)
Schedule Maintenance to clean the gutters (repeat every 6 months)
Flush the water heater (repeat every 2 years)
Tenant Reminders
Evaluate lease and rental agreements for contractual changes (repeat every 1 year)
Send a birthday card (repeat every 1 year)
Owner Reminders
Request current W-9 form (repeat every 1 year)
Review management agreement and growth goals
Send a Thank You card (repeat every 1 year)
