Automatic Rent Escalation

Instead of manually updating a lease amount in the system, you can save time by using the  Automatic Rent Escalation feature to do that task for you. You can add an Automatic Rent Escalation when you: 

• Place a Tenant into a property or
• Update Lease terms in the software 

Important note: Online rent payment schedules do not update automatically. If you or your tenants set up an online rent payment schedule, the dollar amount scheduled will need to be manually increased.

Set up Automatic Rent Escalation When Placing a Tenant in a Property (Move-In)

1. Click Properties
2. Right-Click on the property and select Place New Tenant
3. After the Tenant Information, Rental Charges, and Rental Options are complete, check the Enable Automatic Rent Escalation box.
4. Enter the escalation parameters, then click on Place Tenant.

Set up Automatic Rent Escalation When Updating a Lease

1. Click Tenants
2. Right-click on the tenant and choose Update Lease from the menu
3. Under Automatic Rent Escalation, click on Set up Automatic Rent Escalation
4. Answer the questions and click Save Escalation  

Edit or Disable Automatic Rent Escalations

You can quickly edit or disable a scheduled automatic rent escalation.

In your Rentec Direct account:

1. Click on Tenants
2. Right-click on the tenant and choose Update Lease
3. Under Automatic Rent Escalation (Enabled), click on Edit Automatic Rent Escalation Settings
4. Make needed changes and click on Save Escalation, or click on Disable Escalation
