Sending Forms

Whether you want to use the form templates provided or create and send your own custom forms, it's easy.

Sending Forms

Sending forms to your Tenants and Owners is easy.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click Tenants (or Owners).
  2. Right-click on the specific tenant or owner and choose Forms menu.
  3. Choose the delivery options:
    1. Sign Electronically (HelloSign)
    2. Use Email (for signatures on email only copy the recipient would need to print, sign, and manually return back to you).

Tip: You may also print a copy by clicking the Download option under the document preview.
  4. Co-renter's and/or Co-signors can be added by clicking the Add Signer button and then entering the name and email address of the recipient. This will auto-populate the primary tenant's name and all co-renter name's that you added onto the lease anywhere you have used the %all_names% data field.

More information about customizing your forms with data fields can be found here: Custom Form Editor
  5. Click Send (Send out for Electronic Signature or Send Form via Email depending on the option chosen above).

User Permissions

If you are using Rentec Pro or Rentec PM and have additional user accounts, you can specify whether these accounts have permission to add/edit Forms.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click Settings
  2. Under the People option choose Managers & Users
  3. Click the Permissions link for the user whose permissions you wish to edit
  4. Change Allow access to Forms to YES
  5. Click Save Changes when finished.
Important NoteThere are other Forms options available to customize for your users. Please use caution when granting Allow access to send Forms electronically. Electronic forms are legally binding documents and may also incur charges on your account.
Electronic signatures: $2.50/ea if the signature count exceeds 15% of property count. (For example: if you have 100 units, your first 15 electronic documents per month are free). This would be extremely rare and to date Rentec Direct has never billed an overage fee, even once. It’s just a precaution to ensure we can always offer this service free to everybody.
