Archive, Reactivate, or Delete a Property

In Rentec Direct property management software, property can be quickly removed from the active property list while preserving historical transactions.

While a property can be archived and deleted from your Rentec Direct account, it's encouraged to wait until after taxes have been filed for the time it was managed to ensure transactions linked to the property are included with your filings.

After a property has been archived, it can then be deleted. Before archiving property, to ensure accurate ledgers and reports, we encourage you to:

Archive a Stand Alone Property

The following steps walk through how to remove a property from the active properties list or Archive a Property.

In your Rentec Direct account:  

  1. Click on Properties
  2. Right-click on a property and click on Archive Property
  3. You'll be presented with this warning. Click the Archive Property button if you agree

    The property profile and ledger are then removed from the active Properties List and placed on the Archived Properties List.



Archiving Multi-Unit Properties

Archiving a Multi-Unit property will remove the primary, all of its subunits, and all associated data from new reports. If individual subunits are to be archived

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Properties
  2. Right-click on the Primary property and click on Archive Property
  3. You'll be presented with this warning. Click the Archive Property button if you agree

    Archive Multi-Unit properties

The Primary property and all associated property profiles and ledgers will then be moved to the Archived Properties List.


Reactive or Delete Archived Property

Once a property profile and ledger have been archived, they will appear on the Archived Property list, which contains all historical information for that property. From this list, you can either reactivate the property profile and ledger or permanently delete them from the system.

In your Rentec Direct account: 

  1. Click on Properties
  2. Click on Property Archives
  3. Right-click on the archived property and click on:
    1. Reactivate to move the property from archives to the list of active properties
    2. Delete Property to permanently delete the property and all related historical transactions. After reviewing the following warning, click on Delete Property if you agree
