Setup Text Messaging

Rentec Direct property management software subscriptions include an SMS/Text messaging feature with all Pro and PM accounts at no additional cost. 

Pro Tip: Receive notifications of text replies and maintenance requests directly to your cell phone or other mobile device with the Rentec Direct mobile app for landlords and property managers.

Establish Your Dedicated Messaging Number

Rentec Direct will provide you with a dedicated number for texting through your Rentec Direct account. 

The following steps walk you through requesting your dedicated number.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Tenants
  2. Right-click on any Tenant and choose Messaging 
  3. Click on the envelope / send text option

    System Note: The image below will then be displayed with a default area code. If you prefer a different area code, you can enter the preferred number.
  4. Click on Submit Order

If you would like to add the SMS/Text feature and are not seeing the option, you may be on an older plan. Try the following steps or reach out to your Success Team for assistance.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Settings
  2. Under Account, click on Your Account & Subscription
  3. Click on Modify Subscription
  4. Click on Switch to Rentec PRO or PM
  5. Click on Upgrade Subscription - 800-881-5139 ext 2 - Click on the "Live Expert Help" link
