Creating Email Templates

The software is designed to send out automated emails that have been created for you that can be edited. You can also create your own custom email templates. 

In your Rentec Direct account: 

  1. Click on the Settings tab.
  2. Click on the Email Templates option.  
  3. From this page you are able to either edit or create templates: 

    1. Edit Templates: You are able to customize the auto-emails that are sent out to your tenants with your own text and selected fields.  The email template that the software uses to communicate information to your tenants are indicated with the header System. 

      System Advice: The system templates are attached to behaviors in the software so we advise not changing the purpose of the system templates in your customization. For example, if you inadvertently edit this New Charge template to a different subject and change the data fields to something else, the system will still send this out to email enabled tenants when a new charge is added to their ledger. 
    2. Create New Template:  You are able to create your own templates using the [add new] link. 

      NoteData Fields are available from the drop-down list. These data points instruct the software to pull information (name, date, amount, on your behalf when you send an email. 
  4. Click Save Email Template after each templated edited or added.

Tip: Depending on the browser that you are using, you may be able to drag and drop or cut and paste images on to the template.

Using the email templates to send a message to a tenant, owner, vendor, or group from the email/SMS can be accessed by clicking their menu and choosing the Email/SMS option.
