With various searching and sorting options for over 50 reports, Rentec Direct property management software offers thousands of customizable report options .

Each report has a unique URL, allowing easy viewing, bookmarking, and sharing. You'll also find numerous options to customize, organize, update, and edit reports.

Pro Tips:

  • When using a tablet or device without a mouse, the right-click menu can be brought up by holding your finger on the screen for one to two seconds
  • To right-click on a Mac, ctrl-click using the keyboard and trackpad

Finding Specific Report Options

Quickly find the type of report you want to create with these easy steps:

In your Rentec direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on the NEW Try our remodeled reports link (This will only need to be done the first time accessing the remodeled design)
  3. Try the following options to see which works best for you:
    1. Begin typing the name of the report in the search bar to select a specific report
    2. Click directly on a displayed report
    3. Click on the "X" next to the search bar to search by category:
      1. Favorites
      2. Financial
      3. Tenants
      4. Miscellaneous

Pro Tip: As you become familiar with the new design of reports, you can go back to the prior report layout by opening any report and clicking on the Return to the old Reports link at the bottom of the page.


Creating and Saving Custom Reports

Create a custom report in just a few clicks that can be saved for quick access.

In your Rentec direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on the NEW Try our remodeled reports link
  3. Locate the report by
    1. Typing the name of the report in the search bar or
    2. Click on the "X" next to the search bar to search by category or
    3. Click on the report from Favorites
  4. Enter the Report Period
  5. Indicate Bank Account, Owner, or Property
  6. Include archived property in Owner Statement A, Owner Statement B, and Vacant Property reports by checking the box
  7. Click on Submit

Pro Tips:

  • Clicking on the Star next to a report will move the report to the top of the list as one of your Favorites for future access
  • To remove a report from Favorites, simply click on the Star again
  • Pressing ctrl+/ will allow you to toggle between the report being created and the list of reports
  • While in a report, click the Star in your URL or location bar to bookmark the report for future use

Viewing and Sorting Data

When a report is generated, the data will be organized in a standardized format with an easy-to-read font and numerous sorting and viewing options to help create the perfect report.

A Sample of sorting options is reflected on the report below: 

  • Columns with carrot icons at the top indicate that the order can be changed based on any column header subject by clicking the header.
  • If there are multiple columns with sorting options, the column with only one direction showing indicates how the report is currently being sorted. The report below is sorted by date.

    Custom Sorting Reports

Pro Tips:

  • When viewing the list of reports, middle-click your mouse over a report to open it in a new window for side-by-side viewing
  • When viewing the list of reports, right-click on a report and select from the available options to open in a new tab or window for side-by-side viewing
  • Use the back-and-forth buttons to maneuver

Quickly Access Financial Ledgers from a Report

Quickly access ledgers to review and make necessary corrections as needed directly from reports.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on a created report or create a new report using the steps above
  3. Click on a tenant or owner's name, property address, or bank account on the report to enter the associated ledger
  4. Once Changes have been saved, page back or toggle back to the report

Pro Tip: Clicking on a category will bring you into a category ledger report


Edit Transactions Displayed on a Report

When reviewing a report and notice an error in a transaction, or you would like to add a note to the transaction, easily access the transaction directly from the report to make necessary adjustments using the following steps:

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on a saved report or create a new report using the steps above
  3. Click directly on a transaction to quickly open the Edit Transaction function
  4. Click on Save Changes
  5. Page back to return to the ledger

Pro Tip: Some transactions cannot be edited from the report, and you will see a notice if you try to edit a non-editable transaction.


Sharing Report Options

Each report created now has its own link and unique URL and, when saved, saves any filters and fields so anyone the report is shared with will see the exact same information as you. This new feature makes saving, accessing, and sharing reports with managers and owners easy.

The following steps will walk you through sharing reports with managers and owners:

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on a created report or create a new report using the steps above
  3. Share the report with one of the following options:
    1. Click on the envelope icon at the top of the report to email
    2. Schedule report to automatically email on a weekly or monthly basis with updated information using the new Schedule and Send Reports to Owners and Managers feature
